Renew seam sealing

Each drysuit has quite a few meters of seam sealing. Essentially, manufacturers can opt for two methods of sealing.

The conventional seam tape. Here, the seam is taped with a strip of rubber. The advantages of using a seam tape lie more in the area of production. This is because the several meters of seams can be sealed much faster than with manual polyurethane sealing. The big risk with this method is when water starts to migrate under the seam tape. This is because the area localized during the leak test then does not correspond to the actual source of the leaks.

The second and much higher quality method is manual sealing with a polyurethane sealant. This involves real craftsmanship. In order to seal the seams accurately and for a long time, a large number of parameters must be observed. And it takes a long time of practice to produce an aesthetically pleasing seal. Parameters such as temperature, humidity, mixing ratio and more affect the texture of the polyurethane sealant in different ways.

Our claim to Our work excludes the use of conventional seam tape. We deliver craftsmanship to our customers ! If you are diving a drysuit and the seams are sealed with a seam tape and it leaks, we will convert the affected area to a high quality polyurethane sealant.
